Thaumatrope

The Thaumatrope is Victorian toy which used a card with different images on each side attached to 2 strings then when the strings were rapidly twirled the cards would rotate around 1 point, making it look like the image was moving.

The creator of the Thaumatrope was John Ayrton Paris who was an English Physicist and the year was 1825 and the Thaumatrope was the first of its kind.


Advantages :

Easy to construct
Simple to use
Very amusing


Disadvantage :

Its out of date in modern time
