Stop Motion 

Stop Motion animation is the only art form in the world that can take advantage of all the different types of art. Stop Motion is a technique which utilises photographic methods. You would take a lot of photos and then combine them to make a series of photos look like they are moving.   


History
Eadweard Muybridge was the first to discover that by lining up a series of cameras and having one take a picture right after the other one in succession, that the result would demonstrate the motion path and trajectory of the objects movement. In 1988 Louis Le Prince made the design for the very first motion picture camera. An employee of Thomas Edison named William Kennedy Laurie Dickson would design and build the Kinetographic camera.

Advantages and Disadvantages

Advantages:
  • You can use Stop Motion for any type of animation
  • You can use this with any type of art
  • Reasonably easy to use
  • Fun for all ages 
  • It can be used for educational purposes 
Disadvantage:
  • It would take a long time to make a good animation
